Long Island Iced Tea Cocktail Recipe

Originally, Long Island Iced Tea was created by Robert Butt, a bartender at Oak Beach Inn, in Long Island.  He made this drink at a triple sec competition in 1972 which became an immediate hit and became the house specialty drink at the Oak Beach Inn.  Quickly, in 1980's, it became famous all over the world and every bar and club were serving millions of them each year.

It may look like an ice tea that your grandma made in hot summer time but it has five different alcohols mixed into one.

Here are the ingredients for the original Long Island Iced Tea:

1 part Absolut Vodka
1 part Tanqueray Gin
1 part Bacardi White Rum
1 part Jose Quervo Tequila
1/2 part DeKuyper Triple Sec
1/2 part Finest Call Sweet and Sour mix
You pour all the ingredients into a glass full with ice. Top it with coke and stir.
